Risk Disclaimer
Last updated: March 9, 2026
Options trading involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for all investors. You can lose more than your initial investment. Past analytics performance does not guarantee future results. Nothing on Greeks constitutes financial advice.
1. Not Financial Advice
All data, analytics, indicators, signals, and content provided by Greeks ("the Service") are for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute financial advice, investment advice, trading advice, or any other form of professional advice.
Greeks is a data analytics tool. We provide metrics that describe market structure — not recommendations on what to buy, sell, or hold. The interpretation and application of this data is entirely your responsibility.
2. Options Trading Risks
Options are complex financial instruments that carry significant risks, including:
- Total loss of premium: Purchased options can expire worthless, resulting in a 100% loss of the amount invested
- Unlimited loss potential: Certain strategies (e.g., naked short calls) carry theoretically unlimited downside risk
- Leverage risk: Options provide leverage, which amplifies both gains and losses
- Time decay: Options lose value as expiration approaches, even if the underlying moves in your direction
- Volatility risk: Changes in implied volatility can significantly impact option prices regardless of underlying movement
- Liquidity risk: Wide bid-ask spreads can make entry and exit costly, particularly for less-liquid underlyings
- Assignment risk: Short options positions are subject to early assignment
3. Limitations of Analytics Models
The analytics provided by Greeks — including GEX, Max Pain, Expected Move, and flow signals — are mathematical models based on available options data. These models have inherent limitations:
- Models assume certain market conditions that may not hold in practice
- GEX and dealer positioning models assume market makers are always short options, which is a simplification
- Max Pain theory is not universally accepted and is not reliable in strongly trending or event-driven markets
- Unusual flow signals may reflect hedging activity rather than directional bets
- Expected Move calculations are based on implied volatility and represent a statistical range, not a guarantee
- Historical accuracy of any indicator does not guarantee future accuracy
4. Data Accuracy
While we strive to provide accurate, real-time data, Greeks makes no warranty regarding:
- The accuracy or completeness of options data
- The timeliness of data updates
- The absence of errors, gaps, or technical issues in data delivery
You should independently verify critical data before making any trading decision. Do not rely solely on Greeks data for time-sensitive trades.
5. No Guarantee of Results
Any examples, backtests, or hypothetical scenarios presented on the platform are for illustrative purposes only. They do not represent actual trading results and do not guarantee that similar results can or will be achieved in the future.
Market conditions change constantly. A strategy or indicator that performed well historically may perform poorly going forward.
6. Consult a Professional
Before engaging in options trading, you should:
- Understand the risks fully, including the possibility of losing your entire investment
- Consult with a qualified, licensed financial advisor who understands your personal financial situation
- Only trade with capital you can afford to lose
- Understand the tax implications of options trading in your jurisdiction
- Familiarize yourself with your broker's margin requirements and assignment policies
7. Regulatory Notice
Greeks is not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, or financial institution in any jurisdiction. We are not regulated by the SEC, FINRA, or any equivalent regulatory body. The Service is provided as a technology and data analytics tool only.
